Navigating Dance Daze

Good Morning Everyone!

If you have not yet visited Dance Daze for a class, you may not know what we mean when we say we are “located within Bridgehead Studio.” Bridgehead is a huge building that many artists share. The main Dance Daze studio is located upstairs, and when we have classes with 8 or more toddlers or 6 or more children/adults or for any tap dance classes, we use one of the larger downstairs studios.

A Dance Daze Parent suggested that we post more signs around the building to help new parents and students navigate their way to our studio more easily–so we did! Look out for the signs below upon arriving at 2516 Blanding Avenue if you are searching for Dance Daze! We hope these help you find us more easily!

Also, we do keep business cards, postcards, and fliers on the table in the foyer. Feel free to grab one or a few and pass them out to your friends or leave them at your child’s school! We’d appreciate it!

Summer Dance Camp

Three ballet dancers performing a grand jeté jump

Hey Everyone!

Can you believe January is nearly OVER? Time moves so fast! That is precisely why we’re already planning for the next season!

We’re currently planning our Summer 2011 Dance Camps! We will be holding two sessions of dance camps–one for dancers ages 9 through 12 and another for dancers ages 13 through 16.

The camps will last all day and will include both morning and afternoon extended care options for the convenience of parents who work full-time. We will be offering technique and performance classes in classical ballet, hip hop, tap, and jazz dance.  Additionally, we will offer stretching and yoga classes, nutrition seminars, and other lectures related to dance and music studies.  A final performance will be held at the end of each session.

We will soon be holding auditions in Alameda. Stay tuned for more details about the selection and class placement process.

As always, you may call us at (510) 523-2568 or email us at info@dancedaze.org with questions or concerns.

Thank You, Alameda!

Flag of City of Alameda

Since our first full month at our current location in Alameda was December of 2010, we’re excited and grateful that we’ve gotten so much interest in just a few weeks!

We’re also ecstatic that we’re finally reaching our audience through our favorite outlet–SOCIAL MEDIA!  In the past two weeks, almost everyone who’s contacted us about classes heard of us either through Twitter or Yelp!  (Thanks so much for that awesome first Yelp Review, by the way!!!  We really appreciate it.)  We’re also really pleased that people have been making use of our newly added Contact Form. The form is really great for helping us get a clearer idea of what you’re seeking in a dance studio, even before our first conversation.

Martha Graham said, “Dancing is just discovery, discovery, discovery.” In the same vein, discovering is all we’re doing right now! We’re excited to discover if Dance Daze is a good match for what you’re seeking in a dance program and if you’re a good match for us as well. We’re discovering the best ways to reach our audience and our future students! We’re discovering so much, and we’re glad that you’re part of our journey.

Since you’ve delved into the Dance Daze experience by reading this post, we’d love for you to try some classes with us! Even if you’re a few years away in age from the majority of students in the class, if your dance ability is at the same level as the rest of the class, you might find that you feel comfortable there. Or, if you are at a stage in your life where you’d like to begin some serious training, contact us about scheduling a new class time! If we’re free at that time, the class will be YOUR private lesson, until other people sign up! Even better: If you get used to the private lesson after a couple of weeks and don’t want anyone else coming in and ruining your groove, we can discuss customizing training for you and blocking off time-slots so you can continue your one-on-one training! Basically, we’re really flexible, and we really want to make sure that each student who enrolls truly feels that Dance Daze is their studio. We want all of our students to have fun, LEARN, and develop greater confidence in their dance ability, no matter the style. If this sounds like something you’re looking for, come check us out! Send us an email, let us know when you’re free to drop-in, and we’ll work really hard to make it happen!

Anyway, Alameda has been treating us very well, and we’re excited to continue growing here. THANK YOU, ALAMEDA for making us feel so welcomed!

Happy New Year!

CLASSES ARE STARTING!

In case you didn’t know, Dance Daze classes begin this week! We’ll be having our first classes of 2011 both at our studio and at our partner schools, so make sure you’re getting enrolled and getting set up with the Dance Daze in Schools Program today!

FIRST CLASS IS ONLY 10 BUCKS!

In other news: Remember our Thankful for Dance Promotion, when we announced that all fist-time drop in classes through January 3rd would only be $10.00? Well, we’ve decided to extend that offer UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE! In other words, ALL first-time drop in classes are now only 10 bucks. Every drop in class after that will still be the regular $18.00, though, so it’s better to become a Registered Member and take classes with us regularly!

CHILDREN’S HIP HOP ON WEDNESDAY AT 4:30!

This Wednesday, January 5th, we’ll be having Children’s Hip Hop from 4:30 to 5:30 pm at our studio in Alameda. This will be a great class for beginning pre-teen dancers, ages 9 to 12. We hope to see you there!
